SHE Associates is excited to share that we will be hosting a parallel event at the 66th Session on the Commission on the Status of Women March 2022!

Desperation and child and early forced marriage (CEFM) are disturbing realities on the ground in Northern Syria, facing the internally displaced. Women and girls face the brunt of an added layer of violence and the world needs to hear their plight.

Inspired by a former Syrian refugee, now in settled and thriving in Canada, Sustainable Human Empowerment (SHE) Associates, embarked on a passion project in late 2021. In partnership with Start Point, a female-led NGO working in justice and empowerment on the ground,  we pursued a pilot rapid assessment to uncover the truth from the ground from December 2021 to February 2022. The unique purpose of the study has been to establish a baseline evidence-base on the drivers, and impacts resulting from CEFM in IDP settings. This includes the consequences of on mental health, sexual exploitation and abuse, gaps in the rule of law and the explicit identification of needs and specific programming.

Join us as as we officially launch our report findings at the 66th NGO CSW event on March 16th 2022 at our free event.
