Assessments are important in forwarding evidence-based planning in interventions but also in measuring impact. To ensure meaningful and sustainable efforts these are important methods to communicate and inform your work’s direction, successes and even challenges.
A key component of empowerment is the ‘who,’ in other words, the people. At SHE Associates all of our engagements use a participatory component. With all our experts having advanced training in research, we routinely use Participatory Action Research (PAR), a methodology that centres the involvement of people, throughout our engagements. This includes surveys, focus groups and key informant interviews.
We also customize the Knowledge, Attitude and Behaviour (KAB) methodology in the majority of engagements to establish baseline data, contextualize issues, and measure change.
All of our assessments are integrated with our principles, examining gender norms, power dynamics, and varying vulnerabilities and human security challenges, using the latest approaches.
