News: SHE Associates is a Proud Signatory of The Compact on Women Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action
In late 2024, SHE Associates officially joined the Compact on Women, Peace and Security Humanitarian Action (WPS-HA), celebrating this milestone during WPS week at the United Nations in New York. Recognizing the critical intersection of WPS and humanitarian work, the WPS-HA Compact encourages tangible commitments from signatories to drive focused action and accountability in centering gender equality within conflict and humanitarian settings—areas where SHE Associates is deeply engaged.
SHE Associates has proudly agreed to following commitments:
- Advocate for the adoption of special measures to increase women’s participation in peace processes, and in implementation and monitoring mechanisms
- Build feminist movements that harness women’s leadership from the ground up and include traditionally marginalized women, as well as smaller CSOs representing diverse geographical regions and marginalized groups
- Document and share knowledge, effective practices and lessons learned on women’s and young women’s leadership and contributions to peace and security, resilience and humanitarian/crisis response including through partnerships with media and academic institutions
These commitments underscore SHE Associates’ dedication to achieve lasting impact. We strive for a world where women and girls affected by conflict and crisis thrive in peace and humanitarian settings. Their dignity and agency are central to our approaches and work. We are grateful for the warm welcome into the multi-sectoral WPS-HA family and look forward to enacting change, one project at a time.
